An Evening of The Arts with Rutgers at Gallery Piquel in New Hope, PA

I had the pleasure of moving around Gallery Piquel for a few hours this week documenting a joint event between Rutgers University and Gallery Piquel in New Hope, PA. Everyone was nice to work with and the food was top notch. Speaking of food…have you ever eaten the cheesecake brownies at Rutgers events? They weren’t served at this one but THEY ARE SO GOOD.
My trusty lenses for the evening were the Sony 35mm G Master
as well as the Sony 85mm G Master.
Enjoy the gallery featuring some of my favorites.

From ofi on LinkedIn: We are proud to celebrate the opening of our new East Coast distribution center in Mickleton, New Jersey. The strategically located facility strengthens our ability to support customer growth, improves speed to market, and gives ofi the capacity to scale with evolving customer needs. As part of the #grandopening East Greenwich Township Mayor Jim Philbin joined ofi and Prologis, our logistics real estate partner for this facility, for the ribbon cutting. We also made a joint contribution to a local food pantry, reflecting our ofi values and, with Prologis, our shared commitment to supporting the communities where we operate. This milestone underscores our focus on delivering reliable, high quality supply solutions for our customers. We are grateful for all of our partners who helped #makeitreal. The developer on Thursday joined ofi, or Olam Food Ingredients, to unveil the facility in East Greenwich Township while marking a new addition to its 53.1 million-square-foot portfolio in New Jersey. The property at 198 Democrat Road also reflects continued leasing momentum across Prologis’ holdings in South Jersey, the real estate investment trust said, noting that its other fully occupied buildings in the region serve vital roles in industries such as food manufacturing and national retail distribution. In East Greenwich, the company has leveraged its One Prologis approach platform by bringing together leasing, development and customer solutions services to support the tenant in a location that is less than a mile from Interstate 295. “We are proud to join our elected officials today in welcoming one of the world’s largest food and beverage ingredient suppliers to this state-of-the-art logistics facility in South Jersey,” said Mike Sacro, senior vice president and market officer for Prologis. “This facility represents a significant investment in the region, the creation of local jobs and our ongoing commitment to providing businesses in New Jersey with the modern, sustainable facilities they need to manage and grow.” Read More Here

Teeth in the Silence is the first live album from singer-songwriter Joseph Alton Miller, recorded in an intimate, soul-baring performance at The Barron Arts Center in Woodbridge in February 2025. Stripped down to just his acoustic guitars, a piano, and his voice, this career-spanning set captures the raw emotion and storytelling that have defined Miller’s work over the years. Honest, haunting, and deeply personal, Teeth in the Silence isn’t just a live album — it’s a conversation between artist and audience, laid bare in the quiet spaces between the notes. credits released August 29, 2025 Produced by Joseph Alton Miller. Recorded by Joseph Halajian. Mixed, mastered, and edited by Joseph Alton Miller at Worn Out Joke Studio in Quakertown, NJ. That Werks Photography was cordially invited to photograph headshots for Hamamatsu at The Heldrich Hotel in New Brunswick, NJ. We photographed employees against white (for the ID badges) and against chroma green (for post-production depicting them in a different environment.) If you or your company as a whole needs new headshots and/or new ID badges then have us join you at your headquarters or meeting space. You will be impressed with the quality of the headshots themselves and receiving a tangible product that is necessary in most workplace settings.

This is a pretty straight forward photo shoot at a restaurant for this blog post. The setup was a mix of natural light, Flashpoint AD600 and one speedlite with the Magmod MagBeam attached to it. All processing was done in Capture One before exporting to the client gallery. If you are looking to refresh your menu then get in touch with me. Would be glad to come out and capture the essence of your restaurant for your customer base.

The planning that goes into a proposal cannot be overstated. This one was more involved than most that I’ve photographed since the family was going to a celebration afterward. Lots of hands on deck to make this go off perfectly. I set myself up a nice distance away to get hidden from Amanda’s view. There are a few buildings on the property which made that easy. For the lens nerds out there I was on a 35mm and a 150mm. It was a nice day with plenty of landscape that I wanted to capture. This side of the farm gave me a view of the pond/house/family hiding trifecta that really makes those shots special. After the couple and guests celebrated the engagement we did some more photos with just the two of them and then plenty in front of the big barn with the rest of the family. Congratulations on a plan well-done and enjoyed by all! If you would like to learn more about this location please visit: https://www.readingtontwpnj.gov/community/readington-museum

This is a portrait session I did with Russ Watkins (Owner & CEO) of Professional Risk Organizers Inc. based in Clinton, NJ. We made use of his office space as well as the building itself that his office resides in. We then stepped outside to downtown Clinton and shot near the famed bridge and red mill which locals and tourists know very well. The Sony 35mm GM f/1.4 and Sony 85mm GM f/1.4 were once again my “go to” combination to work efficiently and creatively given the various locations.
In July 20, 2023, this spur of the moment photo shoot unfolded (Quickly! From booking to being on set was a matter of 3 days!) featuring Manchester United football club and the world-renowned Casillero del Diablo wines from Chile. A few of the portraits I photographed for Casillero del Diablo and Manchester United Football Club have started making their way onto the interwebs and beyond. The advertisement that has been put forth thus far includes Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Christian Eriksen. I assure you there are several other players I photographed but I won't be showing you those portraits until the advertisements for those players (and the different shirts!) start to make their way onto aforementioned interwebs and beyond. We "took over" the hotel and all available space was used for staging, production and socializing. We needed a large gap between player and camera so the kitchen was taken over and converted into a photo studio. I needed to capture the players from the knee up and true to life so that meant a 85mm lens was the best bet. Of course I shot tethered with Capture One so the clients could see the results in real time. A little bit about Casillero del Diablo: Established by Concha y Toro, is a distinguished Chilean winery renowned for its premium wines. The brand's name, meaning "Cellar of the Devil," adds a touch of mystery to its reputation, contributing to the allure of the collaboration with Manchester United in this unique and visually striking photo shoot. A little bit about Manchester United: Founded in 1878, Manchester United is one of the most storied football clubs globally, boasting an illustrious history filled with numerous domestic and international triumphs. The club's iconic Old Trafford stadium stands as a testament to its enduring legacy in the world of football.

Everyone needs a headshot. Even I have a headshot. You need one for all the various social media profiles, email signatures, contact cards in phones, business cards, bios and branding initiatives. It's probably one of the most versatile aspects of advertising and is rock solid for about 2-3 years. But we all mature, change industries, locations, etc. and then it's time for a new headshot. The good news is I come to you for this. Yes in 2024 I'm fully mobile so that means I bring my studio to you. Whether it's a simple plain backdrop or something more environmental it's even easier than it was before 2024. Reach out and let's come up with a day "that werks" for you.
